Hey y’all! Salvia has been growing in me for quite a long time and I am so glad you are here. I have been working mental health for over a decade, and I continue to be amazed at the courage and creativity of people who commit to the process of healing.

I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. While I have not lived in Memphis for some time, I still have so much love for the city and the people who make it beautiful. Shortly after graduating from college in Charleston, South Carolina I moved to Berkeley, California where I started a career in non-profit arts marketing and public relations. After a brief stint working in promotional products, I packed it all up and moved to Orlando to pursue a Masters degree in counseling.

I have worked in several private practices, inside Orange County Jail Female Detention Center, alongside several anti-human trafficking organizations, and with many community partners who are passionate about helping people heal. I am a lifelong learner who enjoys continuing education. While I am trained in many therapeutic modalities, I enjoy bringing together elements of Somatic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Reality Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as more artistic and creative methods of expression.

I work with adult children of addicts and alcoholics, neurodiverse adults, adult survivors of complex trauma (CPTSD), adult children who were adopted, sex workers, trafficking survivors, returning citizens (previously incarcerated adults), families who are navigating difficult and harmful generational cycles. I am trained in Somatic Trauma Therapy by The Embody Lab (2024), Autistic Advocacy (The Autistic Advocate, 2024), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (Levels I and II, as well as groups), and Prolonged Exposure (2023), conflict resolution, and de-escalation. I also teach somatic movement classes in partnership with The Peaceful Peacock in Orlando.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a wife, a mother to two children who died before birth, and very obnoxious dog and cat mom. I am fiercely protective of all women, especially those who are hindered from receiving life saving care. When I am not working with people in a therapeutic setting, I am a writer, a dabbling artist, and a passionate advocate for human rights and human flourishing. I have been with my husband Tim, for ten years and am also a very enthusiastic auntie to several special kiddos.
